Cramer.
These are high quality digital transfers of slides. All CD's
have

BEFORE BROWSING OUR SLIDESHOW DISC VOLUMES, PLEASE READ: We also have a second website (link) for purchasing customizable DVD+R's and CD-R's of Verne's railroad slides in 1600 x 1200 screen resolution. The new website offers thousands of railroad slide thumbnails to browse, complete with descriptions. More details further below. Typical example of how one of these slideshows will work: Simply insert a disc, and it will auto-start, taking you to a menu from which you can choose what part of the disc you would like to view first. Click on your selection of interest, and while viewing the slideshow, when you "right-click" your mouse, you have the options of toggling the captions "on" or "off", and to "pause" at certain images, among other options. Once that slideshow is finished, you are taken back to the main menu to choose another. If for some reason the disc does not auto-start, double-click on the disc icon in your "My Computer" folder to get it started. To order Prints from the images you see on your disc, click here. RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS / TROUBLESHOOTING: Windows 98 / ME / NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP / Vista / 7/ 8 / 10. Display (for Vols. 1 - 14): 800x600 screen resolution. If you currently have a much higher screen resolution setting, simply go to your computer's "Start Menu / Control Panel / Display / Settings" and change the setting to 800x600 or the next highest if yours doesn't go to that number. Display (for Vol. 15): 1280x960 screen resolution, however 1024x768 or 800x600 will also work fine. We are currently in the process of changing the media format from CD-R to DVD+R. You may get a disc on one format or the other. Your DVD-Rom drive must be able to run both the "CD-R" and "DVD+R" formats. The very oldest of drives may not be able to, but there may also be a small number of cheap factory - installed newer models that won't either, or may have trouble playing certain brands of CD-R. Simple solution if you have trouble is to play on a different computer. All discs are tested before shipping. Note: Slideshow discs may take a while to load on certain drives. PLEASE GIVE IT AMPLE TIME TO DO SO. It may also perform better if the "brummel" file is copied from the disc onto your computer, and run directly from your computer itself. IF NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK, I WILL SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT BURNED ONTO A DIFFERENT TYPE OF MEDIA. CONTACT ME. There will be no refunds without permission. As for discs damaged in mail, you may return the damaged disc within 2 weeks of purchase (DISC ONLY, no case) for an exchange of the same disc as a replacement. Feel free to e-mail with any questions. These discs are provided "as-is", without any express or implied warranty, except where noted above. While only recommended for Windows 98 and above, it will also run on the Mac OSX, but only if you have installed a Windows XP Terminal Emulator, or have a program called "Boot Camp", or whatever these days that will run Windows media on Apple computers. Note that you may not be able to pause, fast forward, or access other options if playing on an operating system other than Windows. We are told the disc should also run on Linux with a program called "Wine". WILL NOT run on TV set-top DVD players. The volumes made in 800x600 screen res will look terrific on a 17" + monitor, and SHARP! (even on some larger monitors with lowest resolution selected), and are especially well-suited for those with laptop computers. As mentioned above, we have upped the screen resolution to 1280x960 for our most recent volume (Rock Island), to give you a greater viewing experience on larger monitors. Just like the people who offer coupons on eBay, what you are paying for is our time and effort for the labor involved to compile and restore the slide images contained on these discs, and for other time and shipping - related expenses. They are all loose JPEG images, not contained within a slideshow program (however you can view them in a slideshow with your Windows Viewer or Windows Photo Gallery). Besides the much higher screen resolution and being customizable, the disc will be able to play in certain compatible set-top DVD players. You can also make prints on your printer from the images. Trains and Semaphores of C&NW's Madison Subdivision

Grand
tour of the C&NW Madison Subdivision, and Elroy Subdivision,
covering
ALL of the depots, towers, stations, semaphores, signal bridges,
sidings,
train yards, junctions, yard office buildings, and notable bridges
(Merrimac
Bridge, Tiffany Bridge) between the ILL / WIS State Line and Wyeville,
including many trains (the Elroy Sub. was once a part of the
CStPM&O
until it was merged into the C&NW in 1957). A huge
selection
of 572 slides in all, there are many scenes from the 1970's, one or two
from as early as 1969, and some from the mid-80's, but most are circa
1981.
In addition to all of the semaphores (as of 1981), you will see the
searchlight
and color light signals which replaced them, an abandoned hot box
detector
signal, old semaphore indicators, the T-O signal at Janesville, several
wig-wag crossings, the Rock Springs Quarry rock crusher/loader, tunnel
near Hustler, and several trains, including the "Golden Arrow"
excursion
("Santa Claus 400"), "Prosperity Special", a North Freedom motor car
excursion
out on the Madison Sub., plus a NMRA Fantrip, with C&NW 1385
steam
engine and F-units, as well as a variety of freights from the 1970's,

Following The C&NW from Milwaukee to Hudson

The
C&NW Adams / "400 Main Line". Your tour begins in
Milwaukee,
and ends at Hudson, circa early 1980's, but we shift back and forth to
scenes taken in the 1970's along the way. 466 slides on this
disc
cover virtually everything of interest, including numerous depot shots
(with comparisons through the years), towers (including interior
shots),
station signs, semaphores, signal bridges, sidings, notable bridges, a
small number of roster shots, and train action at various locales,
including
a number of through and local freights, and excursion train "Butler
400",
featuring an F7 and steam engine 1385. Not all of the
stations &
sidings are covered, because the semaphores were already gone between
Clyman
Jct. and Altoona, but the slideshow will still provide a grand tour of
the entire line! Several depots that have been torn down for
years
are included, such as Friesland, Dalton, Eau Claire, Baldwin, and
Hudson.
Alco locomotives will make appearences at Merrillan (two GB&W

C&NW's Shore and
|
Our
third C&NW slideshow title provides a sight-seeing tour of the
Shore
Line and Valley Line right-of-way, plus the "paper mill branch" that
ran
between Kaukauna and Appleton. Coverage includes many depots, station
signs,
semaphores (about 90% of all signals), Green Bay's "Broadway Tower",
signal
bridges, train yards, junctions, yard office buildings, and noteworthy
railroad bridges along the way. 598 slide images on the disc
are
vintage early 1970's to early 1980's, shifting back and forth between
decades
to show differences in depot structures, and motive power on hand in
the
train yards. Numerous roster shots are featured on this disc
of Alco,
Baldwin, and Fairbanks-Morse units which called this part of the
C&NW
"home", and other C&NW motive power in a number of train
yards.
Trains meandering along the various rail lines are also shown as they
pass

Trains, Branch Lines and the Alco Line
|
Our
fourth and final C&NW slideshow volume, (featuring 782 slides!)
starts
out with 196 scenes of Chicago commuter service, showing E8's, F7's,
"Crandall
Nose" E's and Bi-Levels at places like Chicago, Oak Park, Lombard, Park
Ridge, Harvard, Lake Geneva and Kenosha. Coverage of the Lake Geneva
branch
shows C&NW passenger trains at McHenry, Ringwood, Richmond,
Genoa City,
Pell Lake, and Lake Geneva. A tour of the C&NW suburban depots
along
the "North Line", from Wilmette to Kenosha follows, with RTA (early
Metra)
trains at Lake Bluff, North Chicago, Waukegan and Kenosha. At Kenosha
we
show the transformation of the old, plain C&NW depot to the
unique
Metra depot of today. Next are scenes taken at Beloit and
Footville,
and then the "Ridge Runner" line is covered, from Lancaster to Madison,
showing the depots at Lancaster, Fennimore, Livingston, Dodgeville,
Ridgeway,
and Mt. Horeb, and the station signs at places like Lancaster Jct.,
Montfort,
Cobb, Edmund, and Barneveld. We also have coverage of the sidings at
the
feed mill and other industries at Hwy PD in Fitchburg.

Milwaukee Road's Chicago - Twin Cities Main Line
|
This
is the first of four Milwaukee Road slideshow volumes from Verne
Brummel,
covering the railroad as it was from the early 1970's through the
mid-1980's.
This first disc (678 slides) covers the Chicago to Twin Cities Main
Line,
including Bensenville Yard, transfer runs at B&O's Riverdale
Yard,
a day of train watching at Glenview, IL, some suburban depots, major
coverage
of action at Sturtevant and other points along the C&M main,
Milwaukee
depot and yard/shops, plus many depots and train scenes along the main
line through Brookfield, Oconomowoc, Watertown, Columbus, Wyocena,
Portage,
Wisconsin Dells, New Lisbon, Tomah, Sparta, La Crosse, Winona, Red
Wing,
St.Paul and Minneapolis, with many locations in-between. Many
early
Amtrak trains are shown, including the "Empire Builder", "North Coast
Hiawatha",
"Abraham Lincoln", and Milwaukee Road's "Cannonball" commuter train to
Watertown. Passenger locomotives include Great Northern and
Northern
Pacific F units, Burlington and Penn Central E8's, Gulf Mobile
& Ohio
E7's, and Milwaukee Road FP7's and E9's. Passenger equipment includes
Milwaukee
Road and other railroad coaches, as well as round-end and dome parlor
observation

Milwaukee

depot shown

wig-wag. This volume ends with Verne's photos of the

Lines out of Madison, Wisconsin

The
second in our series of four Milwaukee Road slideshow volumes, this one
covers the lines branching out from Madison, Wisconsin. 495
slide
images are featured, spanning the early 1970's through early 1990's
(most
are early '70s-'80s), providing good coverage of the Madison depot,
yard,
locomotives, semaphores, an FM going down the middle of Wilson St.,
Football
Specials, a Ringling Bros. Circus Train, etc. We shift back
and forth
between decades, showing the various changes made to depots over the
years.
All the lines out of Madison are covered, including the Watertown Line,
Portage Line, Janesville Line and the Prairie Du Chien Line, with the
branches
to Sauk City and Richland Center. Also covered is the
McFarland "Tank
Farms" Line, (also known as the Madison Pipe Line Terminal), and the

Branch Lines in Wisconsin and the Green Bay & Western
|
Our
fourth and last Milwaukee Road title (497 slides in the slideshow)
consists
of Verne's final 315 slides of Milwaukee Road depot and train scenes,
followed
by 182 slides of the Green Bay and Western. Covered here are the
following
Milwaukee Road lines: North Milwaukee to Green Bay to Iron Mountain,
Marinette,
Hilbert to Appleton, Neenah, Menomonee Falls, Granville to Horicon to
Ripon,
Horicon to Beaver Dam to Fox Lake to Portage, the branches to Fond Du
Lac,
Berlin and Markesan, the Eau Claire and Menomonie branches, the Viroqua
branch, and the line from New Lisbon north to Wisconsin Rapids, Wausau,

Burlington Northern and its Predecessors
|
"Memories
of the Burlington Northern and its Predecessors" is a must for all BN
fans.
773 slide images are contained in this volume, with scenes dating
mainly
from the early 1970's through early 80's, plus a very small number
later
than that, from the late 1980's up to the 90's. A large
portion of
these scenes cover BN's Chicago - Twin Cities main line, from Chicago
to
St. Croix Tower, MN. Starting in Chicago, with scenes of BN
E9's
on commuter trains, coverage moves west across Illinois, through La
Grange,
Naperville, Aurora, Hinckley, Shabbona, Rochelle, Oregon, Savanna and
East
Dubuque to the Wisconsin border. Once in Wisconsin, the main
line
is covered in detail, over a period of time dating back to 1973, with
scenes
in such places as Potosi, Cassville, Bagley, Prairie Du Chien,
Ferryville,
La Crosse, Cochrane, Nelson, Pepin, Bay City, Prescott and St. Croix
Tower.
Out of the numerous depots shown, coverage includes seven Wisconsin
depots
that were torn down many years ago. There are also scenes
taken on
the short branches off the main to Dubuque, IA and Winona,
MN. Next,
we take a peak at some F units at the Dale St. Shops in St. Paul, MN,
and
visit a BN switcher and caboose at Stillwater, MN. From
there, we
visit other parts of Minnesota and then North Dakota for an assortment
of shots. The Ashland, WI branch is next, then we head over
to Superior,
WI for scenes of the GN/NP depot, and several BN units, including units
still in Great Northern colors. After Superior, we head west,
south,
and east, with miscellaneous scenes taken in Montana, Washington,
